 Greetings from Zurich!! And welcome to the Coathanger
Tri-Annual Board of Directors Conference!
After a warm and
delicious mid-Pacific summer break (see February '08 newsletter), I put aside my tanning aids, assembled my winter wardrobe and now find myself in Switzerland; supervising and  chairing the corporate meetings that will determine Coathanger's marketing strategy - and hence Ross Ryan's career direction - for at least the next four months.
And of course, there's the cows ...

| Ross compilation CD pre-release launch at New Capers |
On July 5th, at the New Capers in Melbourne, Ross and the excellent Glen Combo - with special guest Cath Cavolo - will be officially launching the pre-release of the new and still awaited RR compilation CD.
We're calling it the Intention-to-Release CD Launch. The show will also be recorded and 'filmed' for broadcast by Channel 31.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen barcode procurement difficulties, the album won't actually be ready - and thus not on sale - at the launch.
But expect a big night!
As well as performing several songs from the expected album, Ross will be exclusively revealing the album's title and importantly - announcing which tracks have been selected for this historic 2008 compilation (there are a few surprises)!!. |

Ross will also be describing many of the cover design ideas that are currently being work shopped here in Zurich whilst we await the barcode..
 But best of all - and this is inspired .. because you won't be able to purchase the CD - then there's no pressure or uncomfortable moral obligation to buy it!. A launch for an album you can't buy yet! How refreshing is that? How thoughtful! How .. how ..Coathanger...
So come on down to New Capers for a unique pressure-free CD launch; where - assuming you've already purchased the other Ross Ryan CDs that will conveniently be available on the night - you can relax and simply enjoy an evening of great music.

| RR Tour 2008 update - contact Kenny! |
Without doubt, the first 6 months of Ross's current Tour 2008 has been his most ambitious commitment to live performance in many years. From Port Morseby to Perth. From the highways of Moorooduc to the banks of the mighty Murray. From the Lesmurdie Club green room to a balmy sunset show in Quindanning. From .. well you get the picture.
And hopefully, with fellow Glen Combo members, Ken Stephenson and Roy Zedras, the second half of '08 will see Ross continuing this optimistically random touring process. So far we have the upcoming Capers gig, another in August at The Studio in Geelong and then some Tassie dates in November.
But we know that's not enough. We read our email. We know how many of you Ryanites have been asking us for years; when will Ross tour your particular corner of the world?
Well, actually that's the problem. You're all scattered all over the place. Can't you guys bunch up or something? |

No really - we mean it. Contact him.
Kenny, as Coathanger's anointed booking agent, is to date, responsible for much of Tour 2008's relative success. But we feel he now needs some motivation, encouragement and possibly your help. And frankly - aside from Ross, the rest of us are in Zurich choosing fonts. Hell, we're no help!! |
So why not send a heartfelt email to Kenny telling him how much Ross's music means to not only you, but to all your friends and family? Write often. Stay in touch.
Let him know how you'd pay good money to see Ross perform .. Canberra .. Queensland .. NSW ... NT... All you folks who usually write to us? Write to Kenny! Suggest venues. Offer to put up posters.
Tell Kenny that you're out there - and that you expect him to do something about it!!

Seeing as the current Coathanger conference began late February and it's now already June; and because there's still the barcode matter to be dealt with; we have decided to merge with the next scheduled conference due to begin late July. |

By then, the compilation CD should be out which gives us a head start on planning the album's post-release marketing strategy as well as the pre-release infrastructure for future projects. More as news comes to hand!
