BABY BLUE
3/4 -- B / E / F#
Hazel eyes, they led me as I walked through the door
I'd been told I'd had enough but I wanted more
Louis Malle, he cased me as I entered the room
And a dancer she danced as I whistled her a tune
This was a place they're appropriately named crime
The owner assured me they do these kinds of things all the time
I was introduced to a woman who called herself precious
She said this place can get you down
But the food is delicious
I'm in love with Baby Blue
If you were her I'd love you too
She may not be as pretty as you
But she's my Baby Blue
I followed her to a room where woman dance in pairs
She smiled and left me standing at the foot of the stairs
I went up to find Hope waiting in the hall
Hope didn't see me coming at all
I'm in love with Baby Blue
If you were her I'd love you too
She may not be as pretty as you
But she's my Baby Blue
She asked me what I'd do if all else failed
I said 'I want to know her thoughts the rest are details'
She said well you must have been ill-advised
Then she smiled in a way I recognized
Oh, I'm in love with Baby Blue
If you saw her you'd love her too
She may not be as witty as you
But she's my Baby Blue
